Pahiatua Wedding Of District Interest

GARDNER—LAWRENCE The Methodist Church, Pahiatua, was the scene of a very pretty wedding when Annie Marguerita, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Lawrence, of Hukanui, was married to Haslam Andrew, only son of Mrs. and the late Mr. C. P. Gardner, of Pahiatua. The Rev. *3. Hindmarsh was the officiating minister. The Church had been artistically decorated by a friend of the bride. Mr. Lawrence escorted his daughter, who wore a gown of ivory brocaded satin, cut on long, slim-fitting lines. The bodice was fully gathered to an Empire waistline and the long sleeves were full to the elbow, gradually fitting to a pointed cuff. A halo of orange blossoms and pearls held the veil in position, which was w'orn over the face before the ceremony. A sheaf bouquet of Easter lilies completed tho picture. Miss J. Gardner, sister of the groom, was chief bridesmaid, the other being Miss Ada Lawrence. They were frocked in green and buttercup taffeta respectively and wore yellow roses in their hair. Their frocks were full-skirt-ed, bodices fitting, heart-shaped necklines and large sleeves completing the style. They carried sheaf bouquets in green and lemon tones, the able work of Mrs. E. A. Harrington. Little Helen Sorenson, of Hamua, a charming little flower girl, also attended the bride. She wore an early Victorian gown of primrose taffeta and carried a tiny posy. A circle of roses in her hair was the finishing touch. Mr. R. Lawrence was best man, Mr. R. Pickering being groomsman. Miss Collister gave a pleasing solo.
