Half a length; length. Time, 1.10J —equal to the course record. Elegance was unplaced in the Gordon Steeplechase and Custos unplaced in the Kooyong Welter. GRAND NATIONAL PURCHASE Received Sunday, 8.5 p.m. LONDON, March 12. Mrs. C. Evans, formerly Camille Clifford, famous on the Edwardian stage, has bought Royal Mail, last year s winner of the Grand National and this year’s joint favourite. The price was 6500 guineas.
