Two arrests were made by the police in Dannevirke on Friday night. Carl Wilfred Torval Christiansen, motor mechanic, was charged with being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor vehicle and with using obscene language in High street. Shu Harry Kwong, chef, was charged with being found in possession of prepared opium. Both accused appeared before Mr. N. Webley, J.P., the following morning and wefe remander until next court day at the request of Sergeant T. H. Dyer. Christiansen was allowed ''ail in the sum of £25 on the intoxication charge and £lO on the obscene language charge. Kwong’s bail was fixed at £IOO self and one surety of £IOO.
