Miss Gladys Angove is at present holidaying in Hawke’s Bay where she is the guest of Mrs C. Anderson. Miss R. Groves left on Friday for a visit to Wiri, Auckland province. She will be staying with Miss Moss. Miss J. Garlick has gone on a visit to her sister, Mrs H. Dyer, Rongotea. Mr and Mrs D. S. Holdaway and their two sons were visitors early in the week, to friends in this district. The final meeting of the W.I. com* mittee for 1937-38 was held on Wednesday afternoon when the president, Mrs W. G. Eising, was in the chair. Present also were Mesdames Wylie, Elwin, Mitchell, Vile and Miss Sargent. Arrangements were made for the annual meeting which takes place next Thursday. In an enjoyable tennis match with Ballance on the Makomako courts on Thursday afternoon the home team secured a win by 6 sets to 3 and 46 games to 36.
