Monthly Meeting of Y.W.CA. Board of Directors

The monthly meeting of the Y.W.C.A. Board of Directors was held yesterday. Present were Mesdames G. G. Priest (in the chair), W. J. Phillips, D. Evans, Jamieson, K. Dean, Misses B. Kelly, J. P. Grigor, M. Forrest, and H. M. Saunders, general secretary. Apologies for non. attendance were received from Mesdames F. C. Barnett, F. G. Jolly, W. E. Winks, C. A. Small and F. G. Major. During the meeting a telegram of greeting was received from Miss P. Hindle, Christchurch. The correspondence included a letter from Miss Elsie Andrews re her visit to Palmerston North during August in connection with the Women's PanPacific Conference which is to be held in 1910. A letter was also received re the formation of a Youth Peace Council in Palmerston North. The resignation of Mrs R. D. Knight, owing to health reasons, was accepted with deep regret. The financial statement was adopted and the current accounts passed for payment.

Mrs. Dean and Mrs. Jamieson were elected national board members and will, with four others, including the secretary, form the official delegation to attend the National Convention of the Y.W.C.A. of New Zealand, which is to be held in Dunedin from May 25 to 31. A jumble sale was arranged for March 17.

It was decided to commence the monthly bridge parties on Tuesday, April 5, Mesdames Evans, Jamieson, Dean and Miss Forrest to act as hostesses.

Upon the unanimous decision of those present it was agreed to send a letter of appreciation to Mrs. C. A. Small, thanking her for the hospitality tendered to Miss K. Courtney during her stay in Palmerston North.

The secretary reported on the various activities of the association 1 , which included the Girl Citizens, Business Girls’ Lyceum, Social Club and Business and Professional Women’a Round Table Chib.
