From Our Own Correspondent. The following is the A team to play Halcomb© Tennis Club at Halcombe, today: Miss M. McLean, Mrs J. Stewart, Mrs G. Fitzpatrick, Miss F. French, Messrs. J. Stewart, G. Coggin, E. Buchanan, and D. French.

The following is the B team, to play Halcombe at Beaconsfield: Mrs Willie. Misses J. Corpe, P. Viles, N. Whitehead. Messrs T. French, G. Entwisle, F. Arrow and D. Rutherford.

Last Tuesday afternoon Mr and Mrs H. D. Richardson were host and hostess at an afternoon gathering at their residence, Tapuae, to do honour to Mrs French prior to her departure for a holiday overseas. A bouquet in autumn colouring was presented to Mrs French on her arrival; also a shoulder-spray to her daughter. May, who is accompanying her mother on the trip. Following afternoon tea. Rev. Fleury, on behalf of those present, expressed the loss that was going to be felt at Mrs French’s absence, especially in the church, where she had played the organ at the services for many years. On behalf of the St. Mary’s congregation. Rev. Fleury asked Mrs French to accept a cheque as a token of the love and esteem in which she is held He offered to her their best wishes for an enjoyable holiday.. Musical honours were then accorded her. Mrs French expressed appreciation of the gift and kind remarks. A pleasant afternoon was brought to a close with competitions, won by Mrs G. Entwisle and Miss Fleury, to whom trophies were presented by the host and hostess. Mr N. N. Barran, on behalf of those present, thanked Mr and Mrs H. D. Richardson for the use of their residence and grounds for the occasion.
