Thames Trots

KEEN RACING FORECAST FOR TO-DAY WIN AND PLACE BETTING (Special to “Times” from “Abaydoss.”) AUCKLAND, Last Night. The Thames Trotting Club’s Cup fixture will be held to-morrow and with remarkably good fields, and classes arranged to suit novice and improving horses, there should be some splendid racing. The win and place system will operate and the prospects favour three place dividends in each event. Some smart improvers aro engaged in the Cup and they include Baron Grand, Bexley Girl, Chili Bean, Policy and Royal Jewel, who are all keen to get into line for the Manawatu, Taranaki and Hawera Cup class. ‘Numerous other runners have an eye on the circuit meetings and this will add to the keenness of the contests. A lot of interest will centre in the appearance of the three-year-old, Uenuku, at two miles, and although well back in the Bracelet, he may be first choice. Another three-year-old, Hillcrest, wil make a bold bid for victory in the Kerepeehi Handicap, while Sandusky will worthily represent the young brigade in the Ivopu Handicap. Horses likely to have a strong following are:— Hikutaia Handicap: Captain Scott, Yanora, Lady Potts. Parawai Trot: Worthy Lu, Native Worry, Carona Bell. Turua .
