TAIK-SIZED rIEEDS ARE ENGAGED SINGLE-POOL BETTING The ’ annual race meeting of the Opunake Racing Club will be hold at Fihama to-day. Except for the cup, the fields are good. The betting will be single-pool and well-fancied horses may be as under: — Pa tiki Hurdles: Kentucky Song, Davistock. Maiden Race: Gold Glare, Trilitha, Golden Orchid. Stretto was responsible for one of the best efforts over six furlongs on the tan at Ellerslie on Thursday morning that has been seen for a long time on this track. This mare has been lame during the last few days, but sho pulled up all right after hor sprint and is to be taken to Trentham on Monday to fulfil her engagements at the Wellington autumn meeting. She will be accompanied by Jack Tar (states the Auckland Star).
