Mr and Mrs A. W. Costall, Pahiatua, have been visiting Wellington. Mrs. E. Maclaurin and Miss Eleanor Maclaurin, of Kelburn, Wellington, have returned home arter a visit to Dr. W. M. and Mrs. Maclaurin, of Feilding. ' Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Jackson, of Mangaonoho, have staying with them the former's mother, Mrs. W. E. Jackson, of Melbourne. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. RutherfurQ, of Moerangi street, Palmerston North, have returned from a holiday spent at Paekakariki. Bt. Elizabeth Gunn, director of school hygiene, Wellington, is visiting Palmer ston North, and will speak at the Manawatu Women's Club this afternoon. Mrs W. J. Mitchell, Palmerston North, left by air on Wednesday for Dunedin, on a visit to her daughter, Mrs Parsonson. Mrs J. A. Roach, Stout street, Shannon. left on Thursday for Wellington, where she will be the guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr and Mrs J. Roach, junr. Members of the Manawatu Women’s Club are reminded of the meeting to-day. The hostesses are Mesdames L. A. Ferguson, H. B. Free and W. T. R«yal. Dr. Elizabeth Gunn will speak on “General Health and Nutrition.” The pupils of Miss Jean Scott, Cuba street, have been awarded the following prizes in the national dancing section at sports meetings during the past few weeks. At Shannon sports on Saturday last, Yvonue Nicholson was placed first in the Sailor's Hornpipe 32 years and under, and Jean Holdsworth third in the Irish Jig 12 years and under. At Bunnythorpe sports, Jean Holdsworth gained second place in the Sword Dance 14 years and under, and Ngaire Chatfield third in the Sailor’s Hornpipe under 12 years, while Heather Martin gained third in the Irish Jig 14 years and unden On the same day at Ohingoiti sports, Betty Waller was second in the Highland Fling, Sword Dance and Irish Jig and third in the Sailor's Hornpipe 14 years and under. At the Masterton Show, Joyce Waller was awarded three third places in 16 years and under sections. At the Woodville Show, Fay Rees was awarded second prize in the Highland Fling 9 years and under and Yvonne Nicholson first prize in the Sailor's Hornpipe and third in the Sheantreus 12 years and under, and Joan Waller first in the Highland Fling 9 years and under. At Mangatainoka sports, Joan Waller gained first place in the Irish Jig under 12 years, and Betty Thomson was placed third in the Highland Fling 10 years and under at the Levin Show.
