Girl Airwoman Missing
SEARCH NEAR PORT MORESBY United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Bloceived Thursday, 8 p.m. SYDNEY, Peb. 17. Ad\dce has been received from New Guinea that the Sydney girl airwoman, Miss Barbara Hitchins, is missing between Karema and Was, and several aviators, including Mir. Bay Parer, are now searching. Miss Hitchins flew from Sydney to New Guinea a few weeks ago. She took off from Karema, which is 200 miles north-west of Port Moresby, on Tuesday, since when she has not been reported. AVIATBIX FOUND UNHABMED Eeccived Friday, 12.15 a.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 17. Amalgamated Wireless, Sydney, have received a message from New Guinea stating that Miss Hitchins was found by an aviator, Jack Todd, 60 miles south-west of Madang. The aviatrix was unharmed, hut the machine was seriously damaged.
