Arriving boon after il a.m., members were conducted to the assembly room, where Miss Johnson explained numerous arts and crafts, many varieties of which were on display. She also gave an interesting talk on foodstuff contents, and with the aid of photographs showed the results of foods lacking in health-giving constituents. The beautiful and sheltered lawn s behind the main building provided an ideal place for lunch. In the afternoon the party proceded to the factory, where thoy were shown through all the departments, the most interesting being that concerned with the schools’ milk supplies. Tho pouitr-y was next visited, and members were greatly interested in the number of competition pens and the systematic tallying of the eggs. The afternoon was completed by a journey to Mr Shailer’s dahlia nurseries, where he has a number of remarkably beautiful blooms, which he intends to display at the forthcoming dahlia show.
