In the boxing carnival at the Sydney Sports Ground last night the Victorian Ambrose Palmer (12st. 51b.) defeated the American Frank Rowsey (12st. 61b.) The latter was so severely punished and outclassed that his seconds thfew in the towel in the sixth round. The main contest was between Ron Richards (list. 111 b.), middleweight champion of Australia, and the American Atalio Sabatino (list, lib.), the (former receiving the decision on points after ten exciting and spectacular rounds in which the American more than once had Richards in trouble.
