Pageant of Nations
SYDNEY MUSICAL FESTIVAL United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright SYDNEY, Feb. 14. A festival described as a pageant of nations, one of the major spectacles of the anniversary celebrations, wu officially opened to-night in the City Town Hall. A great audience enjoyed a threehour musical spectacle, featuring picturesque tableaux, music, songs, and dances of the nations of the world. The performers numbered 900. New Zealand’s contribution comprised a party of Maoris in costume, who gave a canoe poi. There was also a party of Samoan girls, who provided a native dance. Both itams were cheered lustily.
