Goods Train Engine Derailment Causes Delay
NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 14. The derailment of the front wheels of the locomotive of a goods train at the Fitzroy suburb this evening caused a delay to the outward express for Auckland of over an hour and of the inward express from Wellington for over an hour and a-half. No damage was done.
The derailment occurred an hour before the Auckland express was timed to leave, and while the locomotive was being jacked back on to the rails, the Wellington express was held at Lepperton, the passengers being brought to New Plymouth in buses.
