Funeral of Late Mrs. Eggers

The funeral of the late Mrs. Eggers took place on Monday afternoon to the Waituna cemetery, there being a very large and representative attendance, many travelling long distances to pay their last respects to the memory of one known over so wide an area of the Dominion. IV great number of wreaths, letters and telegrams were received from all ever New Zealand. The services at the home and graveside were conducted by Messrs E. Manning and J. Vallance, favourite hymns being sung, and Mr. \ allance based his remarks at the graveside from Luke 1, verse 30, alluding to deceased’s life and testimony amo igst those with whom she lived. Tha pallbearers were Messrs L. Eggers and R. Eggers (sons), J. Gibson, T. McDermott, J. Fitzgerald and H. Walker (sons-in-law), these carrying the casket quite a distance as a mark of respect to their mother and friend. Mr. F. H. Eggers and family desire to thank all friends for their kindness at the timei of the accident, also all who sympathised with them in their bereavement, or sent letters or telegrams of sympathy and so many floral tributes, as well as all who visited them and attended the funeral, with special thanks to the Kiwitea and Manawatu County Councils, also council employees
