Garden Party at Feilding

It is many years since Feilding’s social cir eles had the excitement of a garden party, and yesterday’s gathering at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. J. Levett was, apart from its political significance, an outstanding success. Tho beautiful grounds made for a delightful setting and the largo crowd found plenty to occupy their interests in the tennis and croquet as well as in the admiration for plant and flower life. The organisation was in charge of Mrs. J. Williamson, of Taonui, and a large committee, and altogether proceedings were delightfully pleasant. The visitors from outside included Mrs. W. J. Poison and her daughter, of Wanganui. The ladies in charge of thp various stalls wer j as follow:—Mesdames H. J\ Brandt and I. E, Hocken (afternoon tea), Bruse McLeod and R. Linklater (cakes), McDo'wall and V. Lawrence (ice cream), W. Howell and Miss Hazel Hocken (isweets), Mesdames W. Baker and. A. Piouse (produce). These ladies had the assistance of a band of helpers. On exhibition in the cake stall were two beautifully iced Cakes made by Mesdames J. Williamson and H. Brooker and iced by Miss' Hazel Hocken. Various 1 competitions were conducted, in the hands of Mesdames G. Edelsten and. IT. Pack* (croquet), Mr. Evans (putting), Mr. Bruce McLeod (chain stepping).
