From Our Own Corresnondent. W.l. Concert and Dance. Thero was a good attendance at the concert and dance held by the Women's institute on Wednesday evening. Mrs Morris extended a welcome to all present The programme was as follows: Orchestral selection; solo, Miss Gubb recitation, Miss Ruth McNeilly; vocal. Mr Tabor; playette, “Opportunity.” Drama Club, piano-accordeon, Mrs Bangay; recitation, Miss Joyce McNeilly; play, “Fourth Proposal.” The concert concluded with Mrs Morris presenting Mrs McNeilly with a bouquet (made by Mrs W. T. T. Jones), for her assistance in- making the concert such a success. Supper was then served by the Institute members and a dance follqwed. The. winners of the lucky foxtrot were Miss M. Geange and Mr T. Robertson, of Feilding, and the Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss B. Woodd and Air E. Yule. Among those present were Missds ; I. Johanson, floral crepe; D. Vautier, floral silk; M. Hodgson, rose satin; S. Speedy, blue; C. Vautier, white and silver; M. Speedy, blue and silver trimmings; J*. Smith, Marina green; C. W. Vautier, apricot lace; Pink, green ;satin; E. Sutcliffe, brown floral; K. Radomski. tunic frock; Mesdames H. Gore, Marina blue; S. A. Oxenham, floral; J. E. Morris, brick crepe and black; D. Mr Eagle took the opportunity of presenting Mr Walter Vautier with a suitcase, as lie is leaving the district shortly for Wellington. He was vice-captain oi the Tennis Club and will be greatly missed among the members this yeax. He was also connected with the Drama Club, and on behalf of that club. Airs Uhrbom presented him with a gift. Personal. Aliss Hazel Wood has returned home after a few days spent in Levin. The friends of Mr McAlurray, Senr., will l be pleased to learn that he has returned , home a#a is making a steady recovery. Aliss M. Pirie has been staying with Mr and Mrs H. R, Smith.
