More Rain The recent anti-cyclone is now moving away eastwards of the North Island and a rather deep westerly depression is approaching across the Tasman Sea. Winds: Northerly moderate to strong generally and rising to gale force at places south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint; later backing to westerly and in places temporarily to southwesterly in the southern portion of the South Island. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough about Gook and Foveaux Straits and rising south of Farewell Spit; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Aloderate to strong northerly to westerly winds backing temporarily to southerly; seas rather rough to rough. Weather: Cloudy to overcast in tho western districts from Taranaki southwards with intermittent rain; elsewhere fair to cloudy at first but unsettled conditions and fairly general rain probable during to-morrow.
