Manawatu Tramping Club

ANNUAL MEETING HELD T There was a satisfactory attendance l'at the annual meeting last evening of the Manawatu Tramping Club, when preparations were made for the coming year. 1 ‘During my live years’ association with the club, I have never known it do anything but what one could be {proud of,” said the retiring president, Air. E. E. Chamberlain, who presided over the meeting. Air. Chamberlain said the club owed much to its founda- ’ |tion members who built up an excellent . spirit. Tho younger members joining • * the club had admirably maintained that ’ spirit. > Aloving a vote of appreciation to the jtiring president, Air. R. A. Fuller said that Air. Chamberlain had given unsparingly of his time to club activities. In committee meetings he had preserved an excellent balance and had contributed materially to the progress of tho club since he joined it five years ago. Alembers would wish him every success when he removed to Auckland. The motion was supported by acclamation. A vote of appreciation was also accorded the hon. secretary, Mr. T. 11. Arlidge, and the hon. auditor, Air. D. Glendinning, who has given his services ' to the club since its inception. The annual report, previously publish- ’ ed in the “Times” was adopted together with tho balance-sheet. Officers elected were: President, Mr. ' W. H. Galbraith; hon. secretary and ’ treasurer, Mr. T. 11. Arlidge; general 7 committee, Messrs. L. M. Seymour, A. ' Beattie, E. A. Fuller, J. Lambert, Mrs. 0 E. Silson, Mrs. T. 11. Arlidge; social ’ committee, Messrs. K, Dawick, J. 3 Birnie, Miss M. Ekstedt, Mrs. W. H. " Galbraith; librarian, Miss M. Ekstedt; 5 hon, auditor, Mr. D. Glendinning; club ~ photographer, Mr. J. Lambert. 1 A notice of motion amending sub--5 scriptions was unanimously agreed to. ! It was decided to appoint a club " photographer who will keep the club’s ' album up-to-date.
