Increase in Auckland Rates
Sid UP ON LAST YEAR. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. An increase of 32d in the £ in the aggregate of municipal rates for the current year was decided upon by the City Council to-night. The rate for the year just closed was 3s Hid so that the figure for the current year wilt be 4s 3ld. The total annual rateable value for 1937-38 of all property on the city valuation roll ia £2,673,305. Tho rates for this year are as follows, those struck last year being given in parentheses:—General (including sanitation), Is lOd (Is ssd); library, Id (Id); hospital, s*Jd (54d); drainage, 3d (3Id); intorest, Is 74d (Is Brt,; totals, 4s 3id (3s ll^d).
