Coronation Film
DUE IN CITY THIS WEEK. Just 16 days after the Coronation ot King George VI. and Queen Elizabeth in. Westminster (on May 12), patrons of the Etato ‘Theatre in Palmerston North will witness the ceremony with all its attendant glamour and solemnity, together with scenes of the spectacular procession through Loudon. This amazing event in film history is being made possible by the enterprise of Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd., who chartered two special *planes to convey tho copies of the film to Australia. A connection was made with tho Maunganui at Sydney, and this vessel reaches Wellington on Friday morning. The film will bo rushed to tho Rongotai aerodrome, and tho final stage of its 12,000 miles dash will be fittingly covered by aeroplane to Palmerston North. The film will thus be screened at the Elate Theatre in the evening—a triumph of enterprise and organisation.
The pictorial record comprises 1000 ft. of film, which will occupy a quarter of an hour’s running time, thus providing a splendid record of tho Coronation and a fine climax to the skill of the cameraman.
