Mrs. K. Ruddenklau, of Te Waka, Hawke’s Bay, won one of prizes of 10a Gd offered by the Home Science Department of the University of Otago for a dietary study competition. Mr. A. M. Brodie, Hastings, has left on a short visit to Carterton. Sergeant-Major O'Leary, formerly of Hastings, who has been on relieving duty at iGsborne, has returned to Wellington. Mr. Jock Adams, Ngaruawahia, who has been spending a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Adams, Queen street, Hastings, returned home last evening. Miss E. Newton, who for a number of years was a member of the staff of the Hasting® branch of the Bank of New Zealand, before her transfer to the head office at Wellington, left Wellington yesterday on a trip to the Old Country
