BOARD’S £IO,OOO PROGRAMME From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPUKURAU, May 25. mj runes or new line are involved in tho £IO,OOO electricity extension programme to be put in hand next week by the Central Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board. Reticulation will bt taken to many back-block settlers whe hitherto have not had the advantage oi electric lighting. A featnre of thif work will be the use for the first time in the board’s history of the new, locally-made concrete poles. . Clerk of works for this job is Mr 8. M. Porter, late of Gisborne. He has had extensive experience in Power Board reticulation work.
Sixteen settlers at Springhill, 15 at outer Tamumu, two at Burnside and others in various parts of the board’* Jarge district will have electricity under this programme. The work is expected to take at least eight months to complete.
