One-day Match With Maori Club
Batting Practice For New Zealanders RAIN RESTRICTS PLAY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 7.30 p.m. LONDON, May 22. Rain restricted play to two and a half hours in the one-day game against tho Maori Club conducted by the New Zealand Shipping Company on a pretty tree-encircled ground at Worcester Park just out of London. The match resulted in a draw. The Maoris were represented by five New Zealanders, Donnelly, J. B. Aitchison, N. H. Barnett, N. P. Johnson and C. B. Sharpe, and seven prominent English amateurs, Harold Gilligan, Maurice Allom, E. T. Benson, B. G. Valentine, Major G. Trench, A. D. Baxter and C. S. Marriott. The New Zealand team was: Kerr, Hadlee, Page, Carson, Lamason, Moloney, Weir, Wallace, Gallichan, Dunning, Vivian and Lowry. Vivian and Wallace had useful batting practice, the former hitting five sixes. The team was entertained at lunch at which there were 800 guests, including Lord Liverpool, former Governor of New Zealand, and Messrs. Savage and Nash.
