Freshwater Investigation
MARINE DEPARTMENT’S CHOICE OF OFFICERS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The ollicers for its new freshwater investigation branch have been selected by the Marine Department. Mr. A. E. Hefford, Chief Inspector of Fisheries, who will direct tho research, announced on Saturday that the appointments as freshwater biologists had been offered to Mr. D. F. Hobbs (Christchurch) and Mr. D. Cairns (Wellington). Miss V. K. Lawrey (Christchurch) has been appointed laboratory assistant, a special laboratory being fitted up in Wellington.
