Sandon

From Our Own Correspondent. On the Rifle Range. Rifle enthusiasts will be interested to learn of Mr Ken Lumsden’s success last Saturday when he won the Kiwitea Rifle Association’s Championship Beit. There was a good field, and Air Lumsden’s success was a very fitting culmination of his season’s shooting. It is interesting to recall that at the same meeting just 25 years ago, his father, Air W. A. (Fred.) Lumsden brought home this coveted trophy to Sandon. Sandon can also boast of having a further holder of this trophy in the late Air W. Strode Penny, who was the winner in 1908.
