Hawke’s Bay Golf Opened
CANADIAN FOURSOME AT HASTINGS. From Our Own Correspondent. HASTINGS, March 22. The official opening of the Hastings Golf Club took place on Saturday stfternoon. One hundred and fifty players, including visitors from other clubs, took part in the Canadian foursome match, which was won by Miss Peddie and J. L. Paterson. In spite of the long spell of dry weather, the course was in. excellent playing order. The work done in connection with the bunkering scheme and the improvements to the surroundings of the golf house brought forth favourable comment.
MARAENTJI CLUB.
The Maraenui Golf Club opened its season on Saturday afternoon in brilliant weather, there being a large attendance of members and visitors. The course was in excellent order, and u mixed foursome was played over 15 holes, some very good cards being returned. The winners were Miss N. Itfrirvey and F. R. Watters, with a net score of 50, and they ->vere closely followed by Mr. and Mrs. It K. Peters, with a net 52.
