Plans are well under wav for fitting observance in New Zealand of the Coronation. The illumination of public i buildings will be on a bigger scale ’than ever before. The Government has been in touch with the Home authorities and the method of illumination will be the same as in London a feature being coloured flood-lighting. A number of electric power boards have undertaken to supply power at reduced charges. It is probable that the illuminations will last for a week. Coronation Day will probably be marked by ceremony in Parliament Building grounds. An official announcement regarding the plans is likely to be made shortly.
