Chess Master to Visit Napier At Easter

An interesting visitor to Napi-rr during tho Easter holidays will he Air Jajos Steiner, tho chess champion of Hungary, who is reported to be ono of the world’s strongest players. Air. Steiner has just concluded a tour of Australia where, in addition to giving convincing proof of his skill as a chess player, ho has popularised himself as a lover of sport and u.i instructive lecturer. Mr. Steiner, who is an apostle of physical fitness, is 34 years of age, and attained the rank of master when only 19 years of age. His tournament successes are numerous, and in tho recent tournament for the Australian championship he returned a clean score, winning all 11 games. The opposition on this occasion included all tho strongest players in Australia, including the pre sent champion. Air. C. J. S. Purdy, and several former champions.
