BRANCH FORALED AT NAPIER From Our Own Correspondent. NAPIER, Alarch 20. A Hawke’-s Buy branch of the re-cently-formed Wellington Local Body Officers’ Industrial Union of Workers was formed at a meeting held in Napier last night, when the Wellington Union’s organiser and secrotary, Air. G. Alartyn Renner, addressed an audience of between 80 and 100. A committee of five was elected, with power to add to their numbers, while after certain amendments, the clauses of tlie proposed award to operate in New Zealand were adopted. At some future date there is to be ft Dominion conference of the various branches of tlie new union, and one delegate from each branch will be Invited to attend. The personnel of the committee to guido the destinies of the Hawke’s Bay branch is as follows: —Alessrs. F. Alurray, Hastings Borough Council; W. J. Ireland, E. Grant, Aliss Dean, all of the Napier Borough Council; and Air. D. Evans, Hawke’s Bay County Council. Other officers are to be elected at a later meeting.
