Obituary The district suffered a severe loss r< cently when Mr Sutton James-Hemming Junior, of Umuto'i,' lost his life in a motor Born in Wales in 11)03, deceased came to New Zealand with his parents at an early age, and after receiving his education at the local school, he later assisted his father in farming. A keen sportsman, the. season would find him stalking the elusive stag In the nearby Kuahines, and he not only attacked the deer with a rifle but obtained many fine photographs of these animals in their native haunts. Of a practical turn of mind, he was a firm mover In cutting a track to. the summit of the Puiahines. thus earning the heartfelt gratitude of many a weary tramper. Although not a keen tennis player, lie was a member of the committee for many years and was always a very willing worker for the club. No deserving cause ever called for help in vain. A member of the Legion of Frontiersmen, he was highly respected by all his comrades. Deceased was a staunch churchman and was the inspiration of the Bible Class. Although of a quiet disposition, he was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him and the deepest sympathy is extended to his family, of whom are left to mourn his passing, his father, four sisters.
