Clearing Sale
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Co., Ltd., report a successful clearance at Mr H. L. Osborne's clearing sale on Wednesday last when a large attendance of buyers from the Levin, M&rton and Oroua districts showed keen interest In an excellent herd of Jerseys cows, spirited bidding was prevalent and the herd of 34 cow.s averaged £9 5s 6d, the top price being £l2 10s. There was keen competition for a 7yr draught ra&re and a 3yr draught gelding which realised £l9 and £39 respectively. Hundries and implements sold well and it is evident that similar sales will prove very popular in the coming season. CLEARING SALE AT OHINGAITI The N.Z. Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a very successful clearing sale on account of Mr. E. C. Leith at Ohingaiti on Friday. There was an excellent attendance of buyer* from all over Rangitikei and competition on all lines submitted was exceptionally .keen. Prices were as follow: 180 5-yr ewes, 265; 223 4-yr ewes, 34s 4d; 177 6-th ewes, 39s 3d; 423 4-th ewes, 40s 9d; 140 2-th ewes, 455; 261 ewe lambs, 28s 6d; 150 do., 20s 9d; 171 wether iambs, 16s Id; 164 do., 11s 4d; small ewe lambs, tail end lots, 15s; cull wether lambs, 9s Id; 2 and 3-shear B.D. rams, 2} to 4gns.; 2-shear romney rams, 1 to 1 5-Bgns.; aged rams, 10s 6d to 16s. Aged bay mare, £l7 10s; 4-yr mare, £9; 8-yr chestnut gelding, £l2. ttandow wool press, £l7; small disc harrows, £4 15s. Other sundries realised satisfactory prices. On account of outside vendors: A nice line of 2-th ewes made 40s 7U; aged B.D. rams to I’igus. . . . T"" ' ll 1
