Porkers for Export

WAIKATO COMPETITION The ,laio»t venture of the Waikato Pig Recording and Research Association is to launch a porker production competition for Waikato farmers. Prises have been offered for the best team of at least seven porkers. A feature of the contest is the fact that the pigs will be weighed by tho recording officer at 3,8, and 12 weeks and at slaughter. Points will be awarded for the best weights, for early maturity, from freedom of disease, and for the best conformation most suited for the requirements of the London buyer of pork. Another interesting angle to the contost will be the data obtained as to the breeds or cross-breeds which go nearest to the ideal. It is the intention of the firm purchasing the pigs to ship them to timithfield in one consignment for in spoction and approval.
