The Nizam of Hyderabad, reputedly tho richest man in the world, whoso income is li millions per year, hag begun his Bilver jubilee celebrations, postponed last year owing to the death of King George V. Although the tcity was illuminated and there were many other festivities, the Nizam is devoting large sums which could be spent in a spectacular direction, to works of public utility and charity. Despite his vast wealth, including gold reported to bo valued at £50,000,000 and a collection of precious stones, tho Nizam has extremely simple tastes and frequently smokes Indian cigarettes costing a penny.
