(From Our Own Correspondent) Defence Rifle Club. Owing to the wet day thero was no shoot on the local range last Saturday. Next Saturduy several members are making a trip to Trentham to lire over the 900yds range there us the guests of the Jvarorl Club. A shoot will be held on tins local range also over the 500 yd and 000 yd ranges. During the week a meeting is to bo held to arrange the club’s programme for tho season, competitions being due to mem hers *a t endF' Several of the N.K.A meeting at Trfnthain"]rom Alaix-h a to 10. I Methodist Church. Last Wednesday afternoon the ladies of the Ashhurst Methodist Church were entertained at an "At Home’* at tho residence ot Mrs Holdcrol't, of Feilding. There was quite a good muster present. Competitions occupied the best part of the afternoon's programme, winners being Mrs Alclntyro scm\, Mrs 1 Evans Mrs | Foston. Mrs Shaw and Mrs Tuimecilile 'Afternoon tea was served, at which tho ■ Rev. (~ boston expressed thanks to the hostess on behalf of the Guild, for the splendid afternoon. Personal Mr George Drummond, who was injuied on the Church liili deviation job, is progressing satisfactorily. j
