WAIPAWA, Last Night. Airs E. W. Haldane, has returned to hor homo in Lower Hutt, after spending several weeks with her sister, Mrs K. T. Chute, "Norton," Tikokino. Air C. G. E. Harker left for Wellington yosterday to conduct tho defence, at the fourth trial of Mrs Ave», Unsettled Weather, Decidedly wintry conditions wero experienced in Waipawa over tho weekend, and indications point to an unpleasantly early winter setting iu. Wedding of Distinct Interest. An interesting wedding to people of tho Waipawa district, was solemnised recently at St. Andrew’s Church, Palmerston North, tho contacting parties being Norma, younger daughter of Mi„ and tho late Mr A. S. Astle and Vernon, •second sou of Mrs and the late Mr VV. H. Ho bin, of Waipawa. Mr Hobin was for scvorul years one of the most popular teachers iu tho Waipawa Primary School. Air and Airs V. .Hobin's future home will bo at Palmerston North, where Air Hobin recently secured an appointment. The Brower Buttons. Another bowling match l'or tho Brewer Buttons was played yesterday afternoon, when tho challengers —Came and Parkin, defeated tho holders, Kennel t and Jopsou, by 1C to 32.
