Considerable distress and damage are reported. Officials of .lay County, Indiana, called the conditions the worst since J 913. Kailway and inter-urban traffic are disrupted in that State and many thousands of acres are inundated. Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tenessee reported the same state of affairs. The centres of Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Memphis report high river stages with flood levels dangerously near.
