Archbishop of Canterbury’s Message
GROWTH OF ANTI-SEMITIC SECTION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, January 1. The Archbishop of Canterbury in his New Year's message says: “Ominous clouds are moving over Europe, yet it would be wrong to yield to the forebodings of war, which need not be inevitable if responsible rulers are determined to seek peace. I trust the Coronation will mean not only investing our King with his high office as a trust from God, but also the dedication of the nation to God’s service. “I am concerned to notice signs of the growth of an anti-Semitic section in this country and trust that we will be spared the shame of encouraging this discreditable prejudice which has led to cruel persecution in other countries.”
