Heavy Electrical Storm

SLL? ON WEST COAST RAILWAY. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. A short but very heavy electrical storm struck Kowhai Bush, in the foothills at the back of Sheffield, at about four o’clock on Saturday afternoon, and when, at the end of an hour, the rain slackened off, about three inches had fallen. One result was a slip on the West Coast railway line one mile west of Kow'hai and an excursion train was delayed for some time. Trains can get through to-day at slow speed and gangs are now repairing the track. Some in l nor slips were also reporteu on country roads. The storm was not widespread.
