Wedding of District Interest
ANDERSON—OSBORNE. The Methodist Church at Foxton was the scene of a very protty wedding of considerable interest on Wednesday afternoon when Rea, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. Osborne, of Lady’s Mile, was married to Charles Frank, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs.. C. Anderson, of Duncan street.
The church had been artistically decorated by friends of the bride and Ilev. C. W. Brown was the officiating minister.
The bride was escorted by her uncle, Mr. W. ltout, of Eketahuna, and s she wore a picturesquo trained frock of parchment dull crepe satin cut ou empiro lines. The frock was made witll long, full sleeves and the beautiful embroidered veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. The bride’s bouquet was composed of orange blossom and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss M. Osborne, sister of.the bride, and Miss N. Reid, niece of the bridegroom, who were dressed alike in salmon pink and apple green ankle length frocks of suede silk. The frocks were charmingly made with shirred bodices and dainty mediei collars, a row of buttons down the front and a cluster of organdie flowers at the waistline adding an effective finishing touch. Organdie picture hats were worn and the bridesmaids carried pretty bouquets of sweet peas and maiden hair fern. The duties of best man and groomsman were carried out by Messrs. A. Alexander and C. Sutherland respectively. The lovely bouquets were made- and presented by Mrs. G. H. King. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held at Walls’tea-rooms where the guests were received by Mrs. Osborne, the bride’s mother, who was attired in a navy blue and white ensemble wit’h accessories to tone, Mrs. C. Anderson, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a navy blue coat and hat with shoes and gloves to match, and Mrs. M. Satherley, of Palmerston North, the bride’s aunt, attired in a navy blue costume. Mrs. Osborne and Mrs. Anderson carried pretty bouquets of autumn tints. At the reception a large number of congratulatory telegrams wero received and the usual toasts were honoured. When the bride and bridegroom later left for the south, Mrs. Anderson wore a smart grey tailored costume with accessories to match.
Mr, and Mrs. Anderson, whose future home will be in Foxton, were tho recipients of many lovely gifts.
