In the State tenuis championships today, in the men’s singles semi-finals, J. Bromwich created a surprise by defeating the title-holder, A. Quist, 6—l, 6 —2, 3 —6, 5 —7, 6 —l. Bromwich was playing all over the Davis Cup representative in the last set. Crawford defeated McGrath, G—2, 6—4, 5—7, 6—4.
