A very enjoyable euchre and dance was held in the Tiritca school on December 2 in aid of the Fitzherbert settlers’ hall funds, when there was a good attendance of settlers and visitors. Mr. 11. D. Greer was in charge of che euchre, prizes being won by Mrs. I. Fooko (Palmerston North) and Mr. 0. I. Greer (Fitzherbert West). Supper was served by an energetic committee, after which dancing was indulged in until a late hour. Mr. Ron Brill officiated at the piano, extras being played by Mrs. E. Perry and Miss Freda Greaterox. Mr. H. Harris again carried out the duties of M.C. A bottle of cordial presented by a city supporter of the hall was Avon by Mrs. W. Brogdcn. At a meeting of the Fitzherbert West Hall Committee arrangements were made to hold a Christmas tree and party for the children of the district. A vote of sympathy was proposed by Mr. Harris to Mr. W. Brogden and family in the illness of Mr. Brogden and wishing him a speedy recovery. Miss Betty Greer, who for some time has been confined to her room, is again able to be about.
