Local Body Workers’ Wages

SETTLEMENT ANNOUNCED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 3. The wages question, which has been holding up progress in the dispute of the local bodies' labourers, builders, contractors and general labours, was settled this afternoon. Casual general workers will receive 2s OJd au hour, and workers engaged in constructing scaffolds, doing tunnelling work, sinking 3hafts or using poppet drills or explosives 2s 32d an hour. Permanent hands will receive £4 5s a week.
