At the Whakarongo flower show the following pupils of the Kopano School were successful with their entries: — Esshy (standards 5 and C), Keith Redmayne and Freda Dawbin; writing, Rita Sanson, Douglas Hill, Eric Sanson, Maurice Hill and Phyllis Prentice.

A general meeting of the Kopane Tennis Club was held recently and there was a fair attendance of members. Mr R. O. Gloyn tendered his resignation as secretary and this was accepted with regret. A motion was passed that his services be placed on record. Mr E. Norris was elected secretary in his place and the committee is now as follows:—Chairman, Mr L. Lancaster; secretary and club captain, Mr E. Norris; vice-captain, Miss M. Nix; committee, Misses E. Hill, S; Thomson, D. Curtin and Mr J. Thomson; Arrangements have been made for the purchasing of umpire stands and, in view of the approaching matches, these tyill be of great benefit. to the club. The flrst match is on Saturday next and the following members will represent Kopane at Kangiotu. They are asked to be at, the courts at 12.15 p.m. sharp:—Misses

M. Nix, E. Boddy, E. and C. Hill, Messrs R. Gloyn,'L. Lancaster, E. Norris and V. Nix. The following will represent the B team to play Kairanga at Kopane and the match will commence at 12.30 p.m.:— Misses B. Jones, J. Glasgow, M. Wilton and M. Morgan, Messrs A. and J. Thomson, A. Wilton and A. Hill.
