COURT MANAWATU The fortnightly meeting of Court Manawatu A.O.F. was held on Monday evening when C.R. Bro. Robinson presided over a record attendance. An invitation to attend their anniversary social was received from Loyal Manawatu and it is intended that tho Court bo represented at. that function. It was decided to communicate with the Friendly Societies’ Council with reference to the renovation and painting of the notice board in the bus shelter at tho Square, stating that we were prepared to pay our share of same providing certain conditions wero complied with. A working bee will be in attendance on Tuesday evening when it is proposed to decorate the hall for the (list anniversary, which will be held on October 19.
Apologies for absence from tho meeting were received from P.C.R. 's Bros. Lane anu Moore.
P.C.R. Bro. C. Edwards reported that in his capacity as D.C.R. he had assisted in the opening of a new Court with 27 members, and the prospects wero ravourabie for the addition of another 25 for next meeting. P.C.R. Bro. Holgorsou reported on the activities of the Friendly Societies’ Council and mentioned that the usual indoor bowls tournament would be held on Labour Day and requested that the Court endeavour to field one team.
