Carnival Fair To-night
Last night a big crowd gathered at the Do Luxe hall for the first night of tho carnival fair. All the stalls did very big business, with the result that tho evening was most successful from all points of view. Every available inch of space is being utilised, and the attractions are many and varied. A special attraction will be a tap dancing competition. Competitions for children and adults will be held at different intervals. Mr. L. Scott, late of Fuller’s and J. C. Williamson’s, Ltd., has been appointed judge for the tap dancing. Combined Sports Meeting. The combined sports meeting and procession will be held at the Showgrounds to-morrow. Record entries have been received for the national and Highland dancing competition. Miss Gladys Smyth, of Hastings, has been appointed judge. Very good entries for the cycling events have come to hand. Trotting exhibitions, brass and pipe band displays, etc., should assure intending patrons of a good afternoon’s entertainment.
