£IO,OOO for B Stations
SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. When the House met at 2.30, the supplementary estimates were introduced, which provide for an expenditure of £1,718,289, the total for the ordinary Revenue Account being £255,455, Public Works Fund £424,275, and other accounts £1,035,559. The estimates include a voto of £18,436 for defence, £SOOO being in connection with aerodromes. £41,000 is provided for the Department of Agriculture for tho eradication of Ragwort. A special allowance o£- £IOOO is to bo paid to Sir James Parr because of his early retirement from the High Commissionership. Provision of £IO,OOO is made for tho purchase and maintenance of B radio stations.
The cost of the 40-hour week .in tke working railways vote is £316,000. An additional sum of £125,000 is provided for old-age pensions. £50,000 is provided for tho Lewis Pass road in Canterbury and £12,500 for a road from Bruce Bay to Haast in South Westland.
