From Our Own Correspondent.

Conditions last Saturday for the tennis opening, were of the worst; fortunatetly commencing in time to leave no doubt as to it not being possible to play. The opening function will now take place this Saturday. There is every indication of there being a record membership. Tennis players have been on tho courts every fine day. Mrs. R. Vauticr is on a visit to her son, Mr. P. W. Vautier and liis family, Hataitai, Wellington.

The children are practising very hard for their school concert to be held next Thursday. They will be associated in the majority of the items. Bruce Sly is making good progress after having been a victim to whooping cough. Chicken pox also prevails in the district.
