From Our Own Correspondent The Ohakea Women’s Institute held an enjoyable dance Jn the Ohakea Hail recently when there was a large attendance of residents and visitors. Banco music j was supplied by a professional orchestra. Cards were played by non-dancers, those winning most gamejgtbeing Mrs. Matthews and Mrs. Capstick, Mr. J. Ellery and Mr. G. Robinson. After supper, confetti and streamers were used to make a very bright scene. A competition was won by Mr. R. Brown, of Carnarvon. A Monte Carlo was won by Mr. and Mrs. Woods (Carnarvon), a spot foxtrot by Miss M. Taylor and Mr. Florence. Extras were kindly contributed by Mr. H. McKinnon and the duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Miss I. Matthews. Rifle Shooting. There was a large attendance at the weekly practice shoot on Monday, single possibles being scored by P. Ellery, N. Leet, F. Simpson and the weekly competition was won by S. Quinlan and N. Leet. Scores were as follows: N. Leet 6S, 70, 138; P. Ellery 68, 70, 13S; F. Simpson 70, 67, 137; G. Robinson 68, 60, 137; S. Quinlan 63, 67, 136; K. Vile 68, 68, 136; W. Klatt 67, 68, 135; H. Ellery 67, 67, 131; L>. Ellery 66, 65, 131; P. Cole 66, 65, 131; J. Frecklington 67, 63, 130; E. Simpson 65, 6-1, 12D; J. Wightman 64, 62, 126; G. Richardson 61, 61, 122; C. Hartley 59, 61, 120; J. Ellery 60, 60, 120; A. Lammas 56, 53, 109.
