Fortnightly Dance at West End

On Tuesday night the fortnightly dance of the West End School Committee took the form of a “hard-up’' function, and although there were uot many in costume those who were specially attired for the occasion deserved to bo congratulated on their amusing characterisations. Mr. W. Collins, who acted as M.C., was dressed as a swagger who, though apparently experiencing the depression, was still quite cheerful. Despite adverse weather, there was a good attendance. Competition winners were Mrs. llardio and Mr. H. Seivert (Gay Gordons), Mrs. Upston and Mr. L. Bromley (best costumes), Miss Spackman and Mr. Bercen (Monte Carlo). Extras were played by Mr. G. Keid and Mr. tV. Bailee.
